These 5 quotes from Peloton instructors supercharged my personal leadership
Bodily movement has long been used as a foundation for cultivating mental skills such as attention, self-control or mindfulness.
As an athlete, and somatic leadership coach, the way I unstuck myself, inspire my work, come up with good ideas, or get my clients into a body-mind connection is movement. (I do a lot coaching sessions where both of us are walking, on a Peloton or take breaks to do burpees!)
My favorite Peloton trainers (her and her) support me in this act of embodied leadership while sweating like a pig.
Let them support you in launching your week(s) with a big bang:
"Be so mindful of your peace."
I love this one. You become what you circulate in your mind. Leave toxicity, avoid the needless chatter with self and others, understand what makes you love yourself on the hard days."The sweat might not make all your problems go away, but it helps you to manage them better."
If you are currently working on #1, remind yourself that moving forward, putting in the work, sweating it all out builds the resilience that carries you forward.
"Your mind is your strongest muscle."
We all know that the brain is not a muscle, but it damn feels like it. Remind yourself that you can grow, nurture, and flex it to heal what needs to be healed, create what needs to be created.
I am a self-motivator. Self-care is priority.
If you are an entrepreneur, or solopreneur like me you know that it's lonely at the top, that you are the service and product of your company at the same time. Your mental, physical, emotional, and relational health are key to the success of YOU. Self-care is leadership. Say that again.
"Are we having fun yet?"
Choose to have fun. Put your mind at ease when it gets tough. Scream out loud! Throw on some good tunes. Go where your aspirational energy comes alive. Put on your favorite glam and stab the beast today.
Happy Monday!
